There is no generic workflow optimization for all 'round trip' software titles. Hi, Out of curiosity, does Round tripping between many softwares for one or many images takes a lot of time? Or you have a specific WORKFLOW to speed things up? I checked many different workflows with all my tools trying also On1 and affinity but I always came back to this one. So today the only Topaz tool I really need is studio 2. ![]() For me it' s fast enough and robust for what I am doingįor me AI CLEAR is the magic in STUDIO 2, I check today again that I am getting better results using it instead of Topaz Denoise ai or topaz SHARPEN ai even I am very familiar with the two. I just drag and drop to STUDIO 2 ,apply my stored look, my looks always include AI CLEAR as the first filter and I weigh it depending of the remaining noise and clarity to my taste while avoiding artifacts. Yes no Dam no batch process no commitment from topaz to upgrade but I don' t care I am happy with the result , Now using acdsee ultimate as a dam and a cull tool, process the raws with DXO PL, can eventually SHARPEN using LR or ACDSEE ultimate and finish all my valuable TIF photos with Studio 2. I am using it to give the last touch after demosaic and denoise with other software S2 doesn't allow this when launched as a plugin.įor me I got it initially for free but now I will agree to pay it One other point: Studio 1 lets you open more than 1 image at a time, and I can choose to either accept the edits, or save them to a new file name and/or format. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it.įWIW, on my almost 5yr old HP Notebook, they operate at the same speed, no speed benefit for 2 (although Studio 1 still keeps trying to "phone home" for updates - go figure). So bottom line, after 4+ years, I'm not a fan of Studio 2, and don't recommend it. ![]() And as I said, I can launch DNAI straight from FastStone. I can send the file to Denoise AI (DNAI) from Affinity Photo, but if I'm not using AP for an image, I need Studio 2 to launch the newer version of DNAI I'm not sure why Studio 1 still opens the older version of DNAI, but if I figure that out, I'll dump Studio 2. The histogram works better for me than the one in Studio 2 I'm just used to adjusting the white & black points in it, the histogram in 2 is rather flaky, doesn't show just white and black. I prefer Studio 1 for most routine processing. ![]() From there I can launch Affinity Photo, Qimage Ultimate, Studio 1 and Studio 2, as well as Nikon Capture NX-D and Olympus Workspace for raw conversions of those files. I don't use a DAM, so that's not an issue for me. Both free upgrades from original plugins in 2015-16. Avoid displaying the image at 100% during preview, otherwise risk long preprocessing times, too. It's an expensive upgrade. Processing time can be long, depending on the parameters selected. The results were consistently more than just good – the results are remarkable in that experienced users are able to recognize the ways in which Sharpen AI is superior to traditional unsharp masks and filters. You can choose from four views: Single, Split View (with slider), Side-by-Side or Comparison (4 up). Operation is simple and the interface is extremely easy to use. We used Topaz Sharpen AI Version 4 as a Photoshop and Lightroom plug-in. Topaz Labs recommends this option should be used instead of traditional sharpening on finely detailed features like eyes, feathers, leaves, and stars. The Too Soft sharpening model works best to give already-good images a little extra sharpness without diminishing other elements of high quality. ![]() It can’t work miracles on images that are just fuzzy blobs, but it can save many images that are otherwise unpleasant. The Out of Focus sharpening model reduces lens blur caused by missed focus. Note that conventional Image Stabilization combats the negative effects of camera shake, but IS cannot correct for subject movement. Motion Blur sharpening model reduces the softness caused by camera or subject movement. Even if you are a superhero who never shoots out-of-focus images, we’re sure that occasionally the subject move, as shown here.
